We are a leading San Diego-based law firm specializing in healthcare law, professional liability, and civil litigation. With a strong reputation for representing medical professionals and institutions throughout Southern California, we are seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to join our dynamic and collegial legal team.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals in all phases of medical malpractice litigation.

  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.

  • Handle depositions of parties and expert witnesses.

  • Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial.

  • Advise clients on legal strategy and potential case outcomes.

  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials.

  • Collaborate with medical experts and consultants.

  • Manage caseload with independence and strong attention to deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical malpractice defense or civil litigation.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and the California Code of Civil Procedure.

  • Exceptional writing, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple cases with strong time management.

  • Trial experience is a plus.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with healthcare providers or insurance defense firms.

  • Knowledge of San Diego's local courts and legal community.
