Director of Construction
Position Overview
The Director of Construction will oversee and direct all construction activities for our multi-family, mixed-use, and hospitality projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will lead a team of construction professionals and collaborate closely with stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Oversee site management and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers to establish and maintain project schedules.
- Conduct risk management assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
- Ensure quality control measures are in place throughout all phases of construction.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers, to address project needs and updates.
- Monitor financial performance of projects, including cost estimation and resource allocation.
- Utilize construction management software such as Procore for project tracking and reporting.
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the construction team to foster development and collaboration.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a director or VP role.
- Proven experience in managing multi-family, mixed-use, and hospitality construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and procurement processes.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder communication skills.
