Public Health Data Modernization Lead

Position Overview
The Data Management and Operations Lead will oversee the organizations data governance and management processes, ensuring high-quality data practices that support public health initiatives. This role will focus on the modernization of data systems, implementing business intelligence solutions, and developing effective data models that enhance data accessibility and usability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and policies.
Manage data analytics initiatives to support public health programs and projects.
Oversee data modernization efforts, including the integration of Snowflake and other advanced data management tools.
Design and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports for stakeholders using Tableau and other tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data operations and ensure compliance with public health standards.
Advise on data architecture and solutions that enhance the organizations data capabilities and infrastructure.
Facilitate onboarding processes for new data management systems and tools, ensuring smooth transitions and training for users.
Establish best practices for data sharing and collaboration within shared services and with external partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Public Health, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data management and operations, preferably in a public health context.
Ability to travel, as needed
Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
Experience with DM3, business intelligence tools, and data modeling techniques.
Proficiency in Snowflake and other modern data management platforms.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
