Switchgear Electrical Engineer

Position Overview
The Switchgear Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of electrical switchgear systems. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, electrical control systems, and compliance with industry standards to ensure the reliability and safety of power distribution components.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical switchgear systems and components
Perform detailed calculations and simulations to ensure compliance with design requirements
Create and review electrical schematics, three-line diagrams, and communication diagrams
Utilize design software such as AutoCAD for drafting and documentation
Conduct inspections and testing of switchgear systems to ensure quality and performance
Provide technical support to manufacturing and installation teams
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations and project specifications
Monitor and improve processes related to electrical equipment design and manufacturing
Ensure adherence to safety policies and industry standards during all phases of work
Prepare documentation for quotes, purchasing, and project specifications

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Associate's Degree may be considered with relevant experience
Proven experience in electrical engineering and switchgear design
Strong knowledge of electrical control systems and medium voltage switchgear
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to perform detailed calculations and create test plans
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Understanding of safety policies and compliance codes in electrical engineering
Experience with testing and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
