Tax Manager

Position Overview
The Tax Manager will oversee all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while providing strategic tax planning and guidance for high net worth individuals and businesses. This role requires a thorough understanding of various tax structures including S-Corps, C-Corps, and partnerships, and will involve direct interaction with clients to deliver exceptional tax services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the preparation of federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations including Form 1040, 1120S, 1065, and others.
  • Provide expert tax planning strategies and tax compliance services for high net worth individuals and business clients.
  • Conduct reviews of tax returns prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on tax law changes and assess their impact on clients' tax positions and strategies.
  • Assist clients with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and representation as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, offering tax advice and solutions tailored to clients' unique situations.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as accounting and financial planning to provide comprehensive services to clients.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or further education is a plus.
  • Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, preferably in public accounting or with high net worth clients.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, particularly as they relate to S-Corp, C-Corp, partnerships, and individual tax returns.
  • Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
